Questions about the price
What does “from” mean?
The figure for the simplest case: one product, one applicant, reports in order. Your quote is itemised, and if it is higher it says which line made it so.
Are MoIAT fees inside the price?
No. The published figures are our service fee. MoIAT charges about $362 per ECAS certificate, and the first EQM certification adds about $4,131 to $6,854 in fees, depending on where the factory is. On Express the laboratory costs are billed at cost too. The quote lists each charge on its own line, so you see the total before you commit.
Can I reuse my CB or CE test reports?
A CB scheme report with its certificate is the evidence the scheme expects for electrical goods. A CE declaration of conformity is not a test report. The reports behind it can count if an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory issued them and they cover the standard the UAE scheme names. We check that at scoping, before any testing is ordered.
Do I pay again when the certificate is renewed?
An ECAS certificate runs for one year, so there is a renewal every year and MoIAT charges for it. Maximum includes renewals. On Express and Turnkey we quote the renewal when it comes up.
What if my product needs no certificate at all?
Then no ECAS certificate is needed, and MoIAT will not issue one. We tell you so at scoping, which is free, and you pay nothing.
